And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)
Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with beauty and truth. Meditate on whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy. (Voice Translation)
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. (The Message Translation)
Our mind is a battlefield. Satan constantly tries to put thoughts in our head. When our thoughts don’t line up the TRUTH found in God’s Word, you can be certain that thought was not from your Father. Satan only comes to seek, kill, destroy you by putting those negative, defeating thoughts in your mind.
Sister, the battle has already been won by your Lord and Savior. You can take those thoughts captive. Satan lost a long time ago.
Stop letting a powerless Satan mess with Powerful Sister equipped with the Power of the Savior.
We are to:
- Fix your thoughts
- Fill your mind
On these things
- Worthy of Praise
Sister, what does your thought life look like, if you run it through the filter of these 8 things?
If your thoughts are not passing the Philippians 4:8 test with all 8 things, you have let the enemy in on the mind.
So I encourage you when you find yourself with one of those negative, defeating thoughts. Run it the 8!
Ask yourself quickly: Is this True? Honorable? Right? Pure? Lovely? Good? Excellent? and Worthy of Praise?
Run your thoughts through the 8.
