The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath
  • Jesus was going through the grainfields and his disciples began to eat some of the kernels from the grain

  • God had commanded the Sabbath to be a time of rest and no work no labor

  • The Pharisees asked them why they were doing something unlawful on the Sabbath

  • Jesus answered them with Word about David and his companions eating the consecrated bread which was unlawful b/c it was only for the priest

  • He then tells them The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath ( he wass affirming his deity he was the Lord who created the Sabbaath and had the authority to make exceptioon

  • On another Sabbath, he was teaching in the synagogue and a man whose right hand was shriveled

  • Jesus knew what they were thinking

Get Up and Stand in Front of Everyone
  • Jesus tells the man with the shriveled hand to Get Up and stand in front of everyone

  • So he gets up and stands there

  • Jesus asked them two questions

  • They were more concerned about the law than freedom for the man

  • He looks at all of them and then at the man he stretch out your hand

  • The man did

  • He was completely restored
