He then tempts Jesus in these areas:

The Devil told him I will give you all these kingdoms and authority over them because they are mine and I can give to whoever I please

Posture

If you worship me....

Jesus replied: You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him

Protection

The Devil took Jesus to the highest point of the Temple

If you are the Son of God. Jump off

Then the Devil used Scripture

How you going to use the Word with the Word

Jesus replied You must not test the Lord your God

The Digest

  • The Devil tempts us with our strengths, not our weaknesses. He knew Jesus had power and he wanted Jesus to use his power prematurely. Once he overcomes this temptation he will be ready for the mission field

  • Jesus was tempted and temptation is part of the human experience so he like us was tempted and didn't sin.

  • The Devil will misinterpret Scripture

  • The Devil doesn't isolate us to one temptation they are ongoing so we must be ongoing

  • The best way to resist temptation is the Word of God

  • Jesus was in the synagogue weekly making him the example for us to be in church each week

  • Your family and friends may not welcome your life in Christ and that's ok. Keep seeking God because you belong to the greater family and the Kingdom Family

  • Be a witness to them anyway

  • Where Jesus is demons flee. The demons have an agenda of "interfering"

  • Demons are fallen angels ruled by satan to harass people, tempt them to sin, and kill them.

  • God restores our health through faith like Peter's Mother in Law so that we can serve

  • He has the ability to heal all kinds of diseases with a word.

  • He shut the demons up to show his authority

  • His identity would be revealed in God's timetable

  • The demons know who He was

  • Jesus at daybreak went to a place of solitary to pray and be with His Father so should we.

  • We are to proclaim the good news more places

  • How are you handling temptations?

  • In what ways, have you rejected by family and friends due to faith in Christ? How do you handle or need to handle

  • Seeing the authority Jesus has and if you are his how can this help you combat the evil one. You have no power over me only which i give you..

The Chew

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you

[00:00:00] Satan doesn't tempt us in our weaknesses. He tempts us in our strengths.

[00:00:18] I'm Onisha, the host of this show, Glory cannot imagine. I have never done a 40-day fast. The fast that I have done that has been the most challenging was a 3- Anyway, the next thing we see him tempt him with was posture. He said, if you worship me, Jesus replied, you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him. Then he tempted him with protection.

[00:03:00] He said, he took Jesus to the highest point of the temple.

[00:03:03] He said, if you are the take us out, especially believers. We go on and we see the rejection of Jesus. After a period of

[00:04:23] wilderness, Jesus is filled with the Holy Spirit. He is says, they requested him to do what you did in Capernaum. And he says, I tell you the truth, no prophet is welcome in his hometown. And he lets them know that there was many widows in Elijah's time that needed help when there was a famine and the sky would shut up. But only Elijah helped one

[00:05:42] widow. And there was many who had leprosy, but only Naaman was Jesus said be quiet and come out of him the devil threw the man to the floor The crowd is watching and this man gets up without being hurt any further The demons had done enough damage already in his life and this type of deliverance amazed the people They wanted to know what kind of authority and power does this man have through his word that his word possessed

[00:07:02] But even the evil spirits obey him and flee at his command

[00:08:06] but it's my special place to sit down and to be in a quiet isolation with the Lord. So the crowd is searching for him everywhere and they beg him to stay

[00:08:11] when his hometown had just ran him away.

[00:08:14] And Jesus lets them know,

[00:08:15] I must preach the good news for the kingdom of God in other towns.

[00:08:19] That is why I was sent.

[00:08:20] And he goes on to continue to travel and preach in the synagogues.

[00:08:24] See the devil tempts us not in our strengths, but in our weaknesses.

[00:09:24] of God as a weapon. But we use these weapons to break down all the strongholds and take our thoughts captive when we are being tempted. The devil

[00:09:30] doesn't isolate us to just one time of temptation. They are ongoing. So the

[00:09:35] battle is an ongoing spiritual battle and we must be ready to fight. The best

[00:09:40] way to resist temptation is by using the Word of God in your life. And you must be careful and diligent to fight against them. The demons are the fallen angels who are ruled by Satan to harass people, to tempt them to sin, and ultimately to to your faith in Christ? How do you handle it? Or how do you need to handle it in the future? Seeing that Jesus has the authority over the evil one,

[00:12:20] how does that help you?

[00:12:21] How does that help you understand

[00:12:23] that who you are in Christ,

[00:12:25] that all the power and authority

[00:12:27] that we have through the Holy Spirit, to rebuke anything that he is putting over us in our minds. I love you ladies. I hope you have been encouraged today. I will talk to you guys tomorrow. Have a blessed day. I hope that you found today's episode encouraging. If you would like to sow a seed into the ministry of Gloria Bites,
