Live in the light as we wait for Christ
[00:00:00] We can't walk in darkness and light at the same time.
[00:00:07] We must choose to turn the light on in our darkness.
[00:00:16] I'm Aunisha, the host of this show, Glory Bites. and two and we are on day 27 of our challenge. John starts off by letting us know that Jesus has existed from the beginning. Right off back he sets that baseline. He says that we have heard and seen, we saw him with our own eyes,
[00:01:41] touched him with our own hands.
[00:01:43] He is the word of life and his life has been revealed to us.
[00:02:52] the same joy in Jesus. He goes on to start talking about the message that they heard from Jesus that God is like there's no darkness in him. Light reveals and light exposes. We must be willing we also have forgiveness because it says the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. In next we see he talks about these, he has these statements if we claim or if we confess. So he says if we claim we have no sin, number one, we are fooling ourselves, number two,
[00:04:25] not living in the light. You need to be confessing your sins. Now I'm going to break it down even further. He says that if you do sin, you have an advocate who pleats your case. It gives that picture of the courtroom. Again, I've said this multiple times that, you know, it's like you are on trial,
[00:05:42] but you can only afford a court appointed lawyer.
[00:05:46] That's Jesus.
[00:05:47] You can't even afford you.
[00:06:46] obedience will match who you say you believe or what you say you believe and your disobedience will match who you say you believe and what you say you believe.
[00:06:51] This is how we know who is living for him. Those who live in God should live
[00:06:57] their lives like Jesus. How many times do we hear people say I'm a Christian, I'm And then he goes on to say for the darkness is disappearing and the light is already shining. So I Love this the light is already shining Even though we are in this dark world that is so far gone from Jesus so far gone from the word It says that it's disappearing while it seems that it is increasing which it is the light is already shining
[00:08:23] Jesus light cannot be dimmed by this darkness
[00:09:22] You're a fella believer. You're living in darkness. Um, and you're lying. You're still lying.
[00:09:25] He said because a person that does not know the way to go
[00:09:28] has been blinded by darkness.
[00:09:30] He begins this next section talking to God's children.
[00:09:36] He says, you have been forgiving.
[00:09:38] You who are mature. You who are young.
[00:09:41] He is covering all the bases.
[00:09:43] So wherever you are in your faith walk,
[00:09:44] he is talking to you in this scripture.
[00:09:46] He's like the young. Then you have the young person who is in this battle of evil. And that is this generation, these young generation. When you think of teenagers, you're like, I have, I mean, if I got three of them, I had to think about it for a second. So I have a 19 year old, a 15 year old and 13 year old. So when you are in the spiritual battle,
[00:11:03] this is the area of temptation in your walk that you you away from God he says these are not from the father and this these things are from the world There are two systems. There is a kingdom of
[00:12:22] God and a kingdom of Satan so you have a difference between true from liars and who is the liar. Anyone who says that Jesus is not Christ. Anyone who denies the father and the son is a
[00:13:41] anti-Christ. Anyone who denies the son doesn't have the father.
[00:14:47] temptation that will lead you astray. He says 27, but you have the Holy Spirit who lives in you. You don't need anything else. You don't need nobody else to teach
[00:14:51] you what is true. This is what John is saying. The Spirit teaches you what you
[00:14:56] need to go. The Bible says that the helper, the Holy Spirit will teach you all
[00:15:01] things and he teaches that which is true. It throw out a digest. If you claim to be a believer, but you are yet living in darkness, you need to examine yourself
